When this MK1 came to us it was a 1.8 16v with a 4 branch Ashley mainfold, so had already undergone an engine transplant at some stage of its life.

It also had been lowered with the aid of coilovers and had 256mm uprated brakes taken from a late MK2 16v.

The car had also been resprayed in Ivory (similar to the new Mini white) giving it a fresh up to date look.

Kieran had heard about the reputation that we were building up for quality engine conversions and checked out the other MK1 conversions on the website, before making his decision to go with a stock 225bhp 20v conversion.

The 16v lump was removed and the bay resprayed to give it that clean new look. The 20v was then installed along with the 5-speed 02A gearbox, a G60 clutch kit and single mass flywheel

Next the car was wired up running factory management, no software was installed as this is a future addition Kieran wants to add at a later date. A Forge front mount intercooler was added along with custom pipe work.

A 2.5" custom made turbo back stainless steel exhaust was added with a Quickshift wire cone filter to finish the conversion off.
