It’s very difficult to nowhere to start when it comes to this vehicle. I think this best describes a ‘Custom Build’, and really shows the full potential of what can be achieved at PSI Tuning.
Originally the MK1 came into us in need of serious TLC, as I’m sure you can see from the pictures. It was a daunting task we took on, but when you look at it now, it’s all worth it.
Obviously there was an extreme amount of body work needed to be done before the MK1 could go for paint, once this was addressed and the paintwork complete, it was a case of starting a fresh. The MK1 was then completely re-built from the floor up, the undercarriage protected with shcoltz, new brake pipes, etc. New glass all round, along with door seals, door handles.

The engine mounts were fabricated in-house, and the 1.8t 20V 225bhp engine introduced. From here on in, a lot became a blur, long nights and early mornings followed to get the project finished.
A custom made exhaust system, with de-cat & down pipe were fabricated in house at PSI. To keep the OE look, the original clocks and key were used. A Quickshift cone filter was fitted and the battery and washer bottle moved to the boot.
New brakes all round saw the addition of a MK2 16v master cylinder and servo, 256mm MK2 16v front discs.
Moving to the interior, a 1979 dash was installed, with original clocks, as stated above. Porsche 911 front seats (Sub frames fabricated by PSI), re-trimmed in dark red. Brand new carpets, boot panels & roof lining.
To add to the final effect, coilovers were added along with Borbet alloys.
